We have an inspiring team that is international and diverse. We are collaborating to empower youth and local communities, and we are all motivated to be part of something that is bigger than ourselves.
Are you passionate about youth engagement?
Do you connect with the GiLE Foundation’s mission and activities?
And do you want to tap into your sense of purpose by giving back?
Are you passionate about youth engagement?
Do you connect with the GiLE Foundation’s mission and activities?
And do you want to tap into your sense of purpose by giving back?
If yes, then look no further! The GiLE Foundation offers several opportunities where you can contribute your time and skills, in exchange for meaningful (non-monetary) benefits.
**Note: This depends on the regulations of your university. See FAQs below.
Someone who can regularly draft communication and create engaging content using the latest digital tools, to effectively promote our projects and events.
Someone who is passionate about social media to assist us with coordinating social media posts, tracking analytics, and boosting engagement.
Someone to create visually appealing and user-friendly websites, support our efforts to create digital products, and assist with the deployment of the latest digital technologies that can support out projects.
Someone to provide internal assistance for team members, help with planning and organising events, and support our youth engagement efforts in general.
Someone with experience in grant writing to support our efforts to secure funds for our Changemakers Projects and mentorship programmes (Erasmus+, Bethlen Gabor, international foundations, etc.). Financial incentives are included for successful grant applications.
We are looking for people who are dependable and who are able to consistently offer a regular, weekly commitment for at least six months. In the case of an official university internship, this period may be 3 months. We have a diverse and international community, so it’s also important that you are open-minded and that you can communicate well in English.
No, the default situation is that all of our Contributors don’t get paid. However, there are several benefits you can receive in exchange for your voluntary contributions for the GiLE Foundation. These include having a sense of purpose, developing new skills, building up your CV, being part of an international community, having public speaking opportunities, expanding your network, a certificate of appreciation and, if appropriate, a letter of recommendation.
Not necessarily. We are open to collaborating with volunteers across the globe, as some of our tasks can be performed remotely.
Those volunteers who are living in Budapest are generally required to meet in-person at least once per month. However, depending on the nature of the project or volunteering activity that you are involved with, you may need to meet and engage with your project team more frequently.
It’s difficult to say because it depends on your specific role. For example, content creators may be required to produce content at least once or twice per month, whereas the contributions from event organising are dependent on the number of GiLE events, for example.
Put differently, your regular contributions are more task-specific rather than time orientated. However, we do require Contributors to be able to set aside a minimum of 4-hours per week regarding their time commitment. For official university internships, this period is 20 hours a week.
If your application is successful, then you will be required to sign a legal agreement with the GiLE Foundation in order to comply with the national regulations.
We try our best to make everyone’s volunteering experience enjoyable and rewarding. The agreement describes what you can expect from us and it also highlights the minimum standards of professional conduct that we expect from you.
Please note that the provisions of the Hungarian Public Interest Volunteer Act (Act LXXXVIII. of 2005) is not applicable in respect of your contributions and collaboration with our foundation.
It is possible to receive a small scholarship from your university for your community-related activities with the the GiLE Foundation. However, it depends on the regulations of your particular university.
Sometimes the university covers this scholarship directly, and sometimes it’s covered by the HÖK Student Union at your university.
**Please note that the management of the GiLE Foundation will only support those Contributors who provide meaningful support to the activities of our foundation on a consistent basis.
