After his opening remarks, he introduced Giulia Tariello, the European Union Youth Delegate to the United Nations, who gave a virtual address to the audience.
Peter Török
Member of Advisory Council on Youth (Council of Europe)
Gabor Dobos
Director, Study in Hungary (Tempus Public Foundation)

Refer below for details.
The panel discussion started by unpacking why young engagement and youth participation in democratic processes even matters. It then explored how we can all improve the way we advocate and encourage youth involvement in civic matters. It touched on the barriers to youth engagement before concluding by sharing meaningful advice from each pannelist, together with a call to action.
This panel discussion delved into the significance of cultural diversity and internationalisation in Hungary, beginning with an overview of the rising interest among international students in studying in Hungary.
It examined the efforts being made to maintain Hungary as a top destination for global learners, highlighting the importance of cultural exchange, like the successful Indonesian cultural day.
The conversation also touched on the challenges and initiatives to better integrate international students into university life, concluding with insights from each panellist on fostering a more inclusive academic environment.
Our event was marked by a memorable keynote address from Shawn Kobb. Afterwards, an interactive fireside chat took place where Shawn elaborated further on his remarks in keynote address.
Many were curious about how to become a diplomat, or what exactly to study to get through the door. Shawn also addressed the youth’s concerns and curiosities about global citizenship. The discussion was moderated by Márk Toszeczki Richárd and Emma Együd from the U.S. Embassy Youth Council, who ensured the conversation was engaging and filled with practical takeaways.
Our youth forum brought together several organisations, creating the conditions for conversations, collaborations, and networking. Thank you to our amazing host of this section of the programme, Ms. Daria Borodina.
Each presenter had the opportunity to talk about the activities of their organisation, share their successes, and provide information about about various opportunities that young people could get involved with.
Let’s not forget, we had an amazing 2-day Ideathon Challenge, where students from different backgrounds formed teams to collaborate and solve AI-related challenges. Nine (9) teams that presented innovative solutions to challenges relating to AI in Healthcare and AI Safety.
Thank you to our esteemed Jury members for their invaluable contributions. Your expertise and dedication have been crucial in evaluating the innovative ideas presented.
